Sr. Manager Supply Chain
Location: Remote (Within 2 hours of Philadelphia)

Our midsized biopharmaceutical client with multiple products in late stage clinical has tasked Scientific Search in finding them a Supply Chain and Logistics Sr. Manager.  This role will lead and implement efficient clinical and commercial supply chain of life science, pharmaceutical, or biological products and relevant strategic/tactical information between clinical supply manufacturing/packaging sites, clinical supply shipping depots and investigational sites while ensuring GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GCP (Good Clinical Practices) and regulatory requirements are maintained.

  • Lead and manage clinical and commercial supply chain processe
  • Manage the forecasting, project road map and planning demand.
  • Manage the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines related to inventory management, distribution, transportation, disposition of returned/unused material
  • Be the primary point of contact with ICS for driving them to get product in, packaged, serialized and released
  • Develop and implement tracking and management systems for Finished inventory and raw materials
  • Manage and maintain change controls to introduce new processes related to commercial launch and clinical studies
  • Manage third party vendors business and contracts. Review, negotiate and implement agreed terms with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies to drive product cost down
  • Drive, monitor and manage MSB project plans, ensuring vendors perform and deliver within the project timelines and contract parameters
  • Review, manage and negotiate contract prices for raw materials and to mitigate third party supply risks
  • Work with Clinical Supplies Planning function to interpret clinical trial drug requests and clinical protocols to develop supply packaging strategies, timelines and budgets, to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Operations, Engineering or any related field is essential. Master’s Degree in any disciplines is preferred
  • Min 8 years of Supply Chain, Inventory or Logistic experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry with a focus on LifeCell Therapy, Stem Cells, Life Science or Drug products is essential 
  • Possess Commercial C/GT experience with serialization of products 
  • Transfer process in a moderately complex to complex environment
  • Proven experience with ERP/SCM solutions software is essential
  • Familiar with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GCP (Good Clinical Practices) and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in product/technology transfer process through successful completion of the end-to-end process transfer
  • Proven contract negotiation skills
  • People management experience (direct reporting and performance management)
